Ever heard of alkaline and gluten-free diets? How about fasts and cleanses that are a surefire way to shed all those kilos?

Yeah, all of these diets with trendy names are what fad diets are all about. They sound tempting and they lure you in with monumental claims of weight loss.

Before you get all hyped up, let us warn you to not fall for it because these DO NOT WORK!

Fad diets are harmful as they don’t address the root cause of your weight gain at all. Okay, let’s say you gave fad diets a shot. Once you’re done with it, you will end up gaining all the weight you lost in that too in no time! It’s because you will fall back to your old patterns and go back to your old eating habits.

Another reason why fad diets are the worst is that they generally ask you to eliminate foods from your diet that aren’t bad for you in the first place. The result is that you end up with nutritional deficiencies all in the name of a fad diet!

Fad diets rely heavily on you depriving yourself of calories. However, the calories we consume convert into the energy our body needs to power up and get through the day.
